Care and Feeding of Your WordPress Website
Your WordPress site just wants a little love… don’t neglect your site and leave all those updates hanging! Mad Lab offers a WordPress Maintenance package, where we periodically log in to your site and do a little clean-up. We’ll backup and archive everything (we keep our backups on-site for one year), update WordPress and all your plugins to the latest versions, and do some other basic cleanup (database optimization, removal of unused files, etc). It takes about an hour to do everything, but your site is only down for about 10 minutes for testing. Visitors will see a maintenance message during this time. There are 3 options for our WordPress Package – One-Time, Quarterly, or Monthly. We recommend at least doing quarterly updates, as WordPress and plugin updates happen several times a year.

General Website Maintenance
Need maintenance on a non-WP site, or something that falls outside the scope of the above packages? We can do whatever you need! Maintenance generally falls under an hourly rate of $90/hour, with discounts available for monthly retainer packages.

Here at Mad Lab, we are used to working with a wide variety of web hosts – we want your site to have the best home possible. As an added service, Mad Lab is now offering website hosting to our current and potential clients. Our website hosting package details are below. Please note that due to limited resources available to properly service our hosting clients, website hosting services are available as an added service only to our clients who are taking advantage of one of the other services. So if you are a past, present, or future Mad Lab client, our hosting packages might be just right for you!
Our hosting is provided in partnership with RockyNet (www.rockynet.com), a cloud and data center in Louisville, Colorado. That means your data is held LOCALLY – at a state of the art data center with on-site support. While other hosts put your data on a rack in some center halfway around the world, you can rest assured your data is safe right here in Colorado.
All of our plans are on a server that is kept lean and mean, in an environment that we can control. That means your site will be reliable and fast – meaning a better experience for your visitors. This also means that if your site grows in scale beyond our plan, it’s a piece of cake to provision more resources. No migration hassles, no need to make a big deal out of it — we simply figure out what you need to keep your site running at its best and make it happen.
WordPress Hosting (Basic Plan)
Our basic WordPress Hosting plan is simple – it doesn’t have the power you might find at other shared hosts, but it has everything you need and some advantages we think you’ll find useful. The package includes:
- 3GB of Hard Disk space (additional storage available)
- 100GB of data transfer / month. Most sites use less than 10% of this, but if you need more, this is a soft cap – no unexpected data charges.
- 128MB RAM – this is server RAM, dedicated to you to keep your site running fast. Most WordPress sites consume less than 25% of this.
- GoogleApps for your domain, set up and configured for your email, calendar, and document sharing.
- WordPress pre-installed and pre-configured
Having managed hundreds of WordPress sites over the years, we’ve found that these specs are plenty to run the majority of WP sites. You could go to a shared host and get a long list of features you’ll never use, or keep it here where it is tuned and streamlined to run your site efficiently.
The Basic WordPress Hosting package is $17.50/month, with a 10% discount available for annual payment ($178.50/year).
Need more resources? We can add things like more disk space, more server RAM, or support to run multiple sites on the same account – just let us know what you need!
We also offer a PREMIUM LEVEL account – for hosting high-resource and/or high-traffic web applications. Packages will be put together on a per-case basis – starting at approximately $50/month and up depending on requirements.
