Jeff Thomas
Director of Internet Marketing
Jeff is the staff writer and director of internet marketing at Mad Lab. He is a long-time journalist, specializing in the areas of technology and science.
His involvement in Web design began in 1996, designing the first site for Ohio University’s Office of News and Information Services. Jeff has been heavily involved in development of natural resource programs and related Websites, including conceiving, branding and implementing a statewide consumer awareness program, Colorado Forest Products, for the Colorado State Forest Service.
Jeff has also been involved in creating and implementing the Montana Geothermal Project (for the state of Montana/U.S. Department of Energy), the Peak to Peak Wood program (for the state forest service) and several environmental restoration projects, including EPA Brownsfields programs. He has a passion for blending traditional and new media, creating search engine optimization and brand awareness with both flair and relentless market targeting.
Jeff has also been involved in publishing startups and teaches web design at Colorado Free University. He holds an M.S. in Natural Resource Management and Behavior from the Univ. of Michigan, and a B.A. in Broadcast Communications from the Univ. of Colorado. He enjoys fly fishing, skiing, tennis golf and occasionally emulating the late Hunter S. Thompson.
